I am away from the computer for a couple weeks, so I only had time to just skim this extremely interesting thread before I log out until December…I hope you guys keep talking about it so I can learn more when I get back! I’m so glad someone thought to ask here about this, as I’ve wondered about it too. You guys are such a wealth of wonderful advice and support!
I get this “zapping” all the time too (I’ve always called it getting “zapped” because that’s what it feels like to me) and I used to be pretty concerned about it because it can be so very uncomfortable and feel uncontrolled. It sometimes feels like it’s rising up like lightning from within (like a zap to the base of the spine and on up), and sometimes it feels like it’s entering from above either through crown chakra or base of skull. Either way, it can create a lot of discomfort, spasming, and a feeling of congested energy at the occiput. I was worried that I wasn’t strong enough to contain the energies, and so they just “zap” through me and cause spasms. I thought I must be doing something wrong, etc. The most I felt I could do was channel where it goes (out my arms to my hands, or loop up over my head to my third eye), and keep strengthening myself to be able to contain it better.
Then I read a few months ago that Krishnamurti experienced a buzzing discomfort of this sort when meditating (it referred to the discomfort as “almost painful”). I don’t know if this thing is exactly what he experienced, but it was the first time I’d heard of anyone else experiencing something like this and for some reason that helped me settle in and just let it be, as possibly a “normal” thing. Since relaxing my worry about it, I’ve come to realize I can slow the energy down when it hits, and consciously guide it, so that instead of it zapping at lightning speed through my organs, muscles, veins, etc. it slows down to a liquidy-gold power that I guide through those same organs, etc. for healing and strength. I still get the zapping effect regularly but I’m learning to try to guide it and use it to strengthen my body so that I can contain it better and control where it goes and what I do with it. This seems to have helped, just understanding that I can guide it effectively.
Don’t know if this is the same thing you’re talking about, UFOBelieve, and it sounds like you may have already received the answers you were looking for, but I thought I’d toss it out there in case it’s of any use.
