Shadow work is vital if you seek the light. This I have learned, as have many of you. There are certain times, natural cycles, that make delving into the darker parts of your heart easier, perhaps. The darkening moon, and the time approaching the winter solstice. The world is naturally going into the dark, and supports our work there too. Like clearing out the closet to make room for a new wardrobe…

posted November 21, 2008“The coming solstice will have even you poised to gather more light, like it or not.”
Have you noticed a shift in the angle of light? Are you now able to see things slightly differently than you were just a short time gone by? The shadows are coming out, the light is at play, and your planet tilts ever so much as you careen around the sun. The season deepens and yet, what do you have to show for your journey thus far by way of a souvenir? A few memories of hope come and gone, of greater hope fulfilled, or perhaps further confirmation of fear and despair? For many, there is hope beyond anything they dared ever contemplate the possibility they’d live to see. For others there is little but preparation for the worst-case scenario to look forward to, and to these we say, prepare for joy rather than doom, for the worst can yet be altered in such a way that you will soon be celebrating. Here is the plan.
Not so far into the future, the Earth will round a bend and come a little bit closer to the sun. Those who read our words in the hemisphere down under, this holds true for you as well, though it marks the beginning of the end of summer light. For the hemisphere that now tilts away from the sun, have you yet reached your extreme? The coming solstice will have even you poised to gather more light, like it or not. If you wish to delve yet deeper into the dark closets and explore the shadows awhile longer, there is no more appropriate time than the present, though if you come across any holiday gifts as you poke around in the dark, don’t peek and ruin the surprises yet to come.
Yes, already holidays around the corner are subject to our banter. Do you enjoy the anticipation leading up to the time of family reuniting, gathering to share stories, news and joys, watching children learn how to show gratitude for gifts freely given, and feasting on love? We do. In fact, we are looking especially forward to the holiday celebrations around the time of the December solstice very much, because to anticipate the arrival of long-awaited life-affirming light and know that it is already here makes the celebration a lot more fun, don’t you think? That is what anticipation should be about, having fun. Why worry? Of course, you want to be fully stocked before any guests arrive, but things usually work out in one way or another, if you invite them to.
It always seems a time of heightened stress for you, but that is not the way it’s always been, for in times long past the mad scramble to find the best gift at the lowest price in time for holiday gatherings simply did not exist with the same light-emptying neon-and-tinsel entropy of today’s traditional festival time. The stress is from not finding the message of light, not from not finding the right toy. It is possible that all is in order this year for the light to find you in surprisingly delightful ways, and that would be something everyone would enjoy. Light that keeps shining is a gift that keeps giving, and it is what we are hoping to package for you in time for a grand celebration indeed. Nothing more is needed, for when the light of self-recognition shines in the eyes of another, everything is possible for the one who sees it. It is a light alive and responsive to your own heart, a light divine and human as well, a light that drives away fear and welcomes hope. This is the light we see in you, dear people of Earth, our kin, and a light we long have wished to share with you, from us, with love.
Only a few more weeks of darkness await until the turn of the sun. Will you use the time to point at the shadows and feed them your energy, or will you go silently within and look with fearless light-filled eyes upon them, bring them into the light of ever-darkening days and permit them to dissolve themselves into the love that knows no distinction between form? For are not the shadows and all their kind not also beloved and purposeful? We suggest looking with love on the regrets you have secretly harbored, the sorrows you have silently borne, the hopes you dared not voice for fear of shattering their delicate shapes or, worse yet, finding yourself at the razor’s edge between fulfillment and despair. Look with love deep into your secret chamber of horrors and know that in doing so, you do much to release the shadows from their bondage to the form of fear and liberate them into the possibility of peace. This is the time. Soon the light will shine more brightly among you if you do, without the burn of purging all at once. Give yourselves this gift, dear ones, and your holidays will be bright indeed.
Many of you suffer, and many grieve. Allow your own soul-searching to be of some service to those in search of the tangible reality of love, as these dark days deepen into the solstice night. Pray that your healing benefit all, and seek your own light in this way as well, that all may shine with greater brilliance because you do. Be the single drop of love that creates a ripple in the fabric of humanity that never ends. And believe us when we say, it is all going to be just fine.

Shadow and EnlightenmentNovember 21, 2008 at 9:21 pm #11227GTTOWNSENDMemberThank you for another stunningly beautiful message dearest friend(s)!
I am ONE of those drops of LOVE…….Sorry , I am busy rippling out right now! 😀
November 21, 2008 at 11:06 pm #11228jamwolfskyMemberMysterious Pleaidian Light alchemy, awesome, thank you dear Marianne!!!
I have had a shift today. For the first time I have integrated my possible future and felt I was in power in the now. It is so stunning, facing this part of yourself you think immutable, which is caught in fate and seeing this platform shake, getting fluid, then changing focus into empowerment, realising in awe you are driving your ship of light-destiny 😯 . The Merkaba is integrating all the data of possible outcome, then making fluid choices with feelings and intuitions emanating from the soul 🙂 .November 23, 2008 at 9:24 pm #11229Neiru2012Member@opalescent wrote:

Are these not contradictory statements? True you clarified “if you seek the light,” but if the purpose (as I’ve seen some here state) is to resolve “duality,” isn’t the goal balance (including between light and dark)?
Yes, it is true that the light of the sun waxes and wanes throughout the year, that we are approaching the deepest dark, and that this is naturally accomodating to work with the dark. It is a great time to delve deep and explore your darkest self. That is, this is a time to understand the dark for what it is, not try to change it (into light)! Is your darkness frightening to any of you? This is no reason to change it into something less threatening, “for are not the shadows and all their kind not also beloved and purposeful?” The only reason one would fear the darkness inside, or “point at the shadows,” is if you see them as separate from you and not treasured parts of yourself. Peace does not come from the “duality” struggle to transform darkness into light, but from making peace with darkness. This is done by working with it in its own right, on its own terms, without your preconceived notions of what it is. You may find it is not what you think. The only reason shadows would be in “bondage to the form of fear” is if you treat them that way and ostracize them from yourself. It is you who needs to be freed from this bondage, not the shadows. Once you can embrace the dark for everything it is without trying to change it, that is liberation.
November 23, 2008 at 10:36 pm #11230jamwolfskyMemberI am right, you are wrong is duality also dear Neiru 🙂 …..
November 23, 2008 at 11:13 pm #11231Neiru2012Member“Duality” has never been a problem for me. I put “duality” in quotes because it is not one of my priorities, but I notice people in the Light community seem pretty obsessed with resolving it, and to do so with the methods provided seems a contradiction to me. Personally, I never understood what people mean by “duality,” or why they want to “transcend” it. If by duality you mean “opposites,” I think those will always exist, they just won’t be in opposition. If you mean perceptions of “separation,” I don’t want to get rid of that. Now you include “having opinions”? I’m keeping mine, thanks. Disagreement is an essential form of self-expression.
November 23, 2008 at 11:44 pm #11232opalescentMemberNeiru: Do you not know what it is to have regret, grief, or addiction? Or any of the other host of human experiences and emotional anchors that weigh a person’s spirit from soaring, or hide from them the path to knowing their own divinity? I’m not saying darkness itself does that, but “personal demons” sure can. Granted, “divinity” is a vague term, perhaps, but please don’t get caught up in the semantics. Lots of people are afraid of the dark. They are afraid to confront their childhood trauma, their mistakes, their problems. That is where it’s easy to get lost and give up, or cling to a false light. But lots of people have done that work. It’s imperative to go into the dark closets where you’ve shoved all the stuff you don’t want to look at. When you find some miserable part of yourself chained to time and memory, you can release it and free yourself. There are many paths to and through darkness. This message explores that.
Surely you don’t detest the light as strongly as you champion the dark? To me, they are merely stops along a continuum.
November 24, 2008 at 12:00 am #11233AnnanMemberInteresting……….. 😀
I am sensing a little stigmatiz
ation against the “night owls” amongst us….what about those that feel comfortable in the dark? Feel natural in the dark? Like the dark?A quite substantial amount of the animal kingdom, only go out and play, eat and live in the dark. I love both….as much is i like to sleep past eight in the morning and surfing the world (wide web) into the dark hours of night….
Well, that was just my thoughts for the moment…..i´m really not into dark and light stuff anyway….goodbye 😆 😆
Much love

Nah. There is no us and them amongst us, I hope. “For are not the shadows and all their kind not also beloved and purposeful?” That’s the point, ain’t it?
November 24, 2008 at 1:26 am #11235RickyMemberi profess to not being articulate when it comes to the written word, it takes alot of energy for me to type and put commas in and shit.. however verbally i am…we are all one however,, and i dooo love you all..
opal your messages are always soft yet kind but like you, have a sting in its tail!!.. Neiru..your darkside always leaves me delving into duality with deep thought, and i thank you. Cos at the end of the day duality seems to bind us.
THIS NIGHT OWL IS GOING TO BED NOW good night
btw the caps was an accident
love love and more love
November 24, 2008 at 2:37 am #11236opalescentMemberYeah, my stinger’s been overactive lately, as we’re gearing up for a jumpfrog family holiday visit (3 stops and an 800 mile drive, and 3 thanksgiving dinners, oof) this coming week, and I’ve been at wit’s end getting everything together! Not my intent to sting. I hammered that message out with chaos aswirling and dinner (almost) burning, kid yelling, man grumpy… sigh. Anyway. Life goes on.
I think the whole idea of delving into the darkness is absolutely the most important work anyone calling themselves a lightworker can do, and I love and value Neiru’s discussion on the darkside perspective. I don’t typically call myself a lightworker, as I don’t really understand the term, it seems kinda new-agey. I serve love, which makes no distinctions. There’s a lot more darkwork than lightwork in healing, I’ve found.
So, what happens when dark and light come together, like matter and antimatter? Point, counterpoint, integration… thesis, antithesis, synthesis… or ??? Thoughts, anyone?
Ricky, wow. The hands, how the moon-side hand gently holds the sun-side, it’s so perfect. Me likey.

Um where did that come from? She isn’t even talking about duality. Wasn’t she talking about peace with yourself by embracing both sides instead of fighting with one, accepting yourself?

Moving away from darkness hides fear, hope can be false, why want strength from something else when you can find your own?
@opalescent wrote:

If its so useful then why try to change it? Trying to turn all darkness into light just isn’t realistic anyway, there needs to be balance, you cant get rid of all of it. It has a purpose for being there, if you did somehow manage to turn all darkness into light all the insight darkness provides would be gone and it would be a boring world indeed.

You cant truly have those without embracing darkness as well, only think you can.
Opal your confusing me:

I thought you would say something like this is darkness.

Are you talking about light and darkness for what it really is? Or are you putting other things into it metaphorically that aren’t really light and darkness, its confusing. Problems are what you make them, they don’t have to be dark. Its all in your perception.

Exactly. I never ever ever say to move away from darkness but to move into it. Please understand that. The dark is where it’s at.

I never ever ever said, and neither did the Pleiadians, to change the darkness into light… at least I don’t think so…

I thought you would say something like this is darkness.
Aspects of experience that hide in the closet of fear and shame. They’re dark because they’re shoved back behind all the clutter of memory. This is true on the individual level as well as the collective level. They’re in the dark, they appear dark. I think “demons” personal or otherwise get a bad rap, because they can impart a lot of illumination–meaning, we can learn a thing or two from them. It’s our own fear that makes them appear dark.
@opalescent wrote:

Hm, how to clarify this more… When you go into “the closet”, into your past experience for the purpose of healing, and drag out all the crap you’ve either misunderstood or put off dealing with or held onto proudly as a personal vindication of having endured some bad trip, as people tend to do, then you’re entering into the realm of The Dark, right? By some route, perhaps not the one you have traveled yourself, but this is the one I’m talking about. Misunderstood experiences from the past left to sit tend to get dusty and dirty and… dark, meaning the light of understanding (a universal metaphor) is hidden, occulted, darkened. Problems are dark when you close your eyes and refuse to look at them. However, the light of understanding is gained by going exactly there, to the dark places in one’s life experience. I hope this helps
November 24, 2008 at 8:22 am #11239jamwolfskyMemberI love darkness dear friends, it is the most peaceful place I know, and essential to true mastery . I am a shadow player also….I am not a lightworker, I am a spiritual traveller and have been buddhist for 24 year, lightworking vibe is one year old for me and I love it because you have no limits in dogma and are true explorers…
But I feel passion and obsession to be right in your comments and I love that 😎 , a real dark player embraces confused, uncomplete, and opposing opinion with a strange smile emerging from the deepest recess of hell. I love you all 😎 .
Tibetan wrathful deity 😎 😎 😎 .

Please dont get me wrong i was not saying you were acting like a bitch or anything it was just the way your words went, it was cool 🙂 you are always so nice and i dont mind if you decide to sting me one day i will not cry.
I dont see myself as a light worker as such although i do work with light, i regard myself more along the lines of a Techno bunny.
Anyway thank you guys for this important discussion it has left me thinking… there has been no work at the moment( first time in 4 years) and the outlook is not looking good till next year!!! as i am self employed things are starting to get a bit dodgey, and i am entering into “i am a dumb ass ” and “why is this happening to me” mode basically old fears are coming up and slight panic, so i guess this is a good time for introspection and maybe bring things to the light.
love and light 😀
