Spectacular Sky Show

Go outside at the same time and look again. You’ll be amazed at how much the Venus-Jupiter gap has closed. The two planets are converging, not in the slow motion typical of heavenly phenomena, but in a headlong rush—almost a full degree (two full Moon widths) per night. As the gap shrinks, the beauty increases.

On Nov. 30th a slender 10% crescent Moon leaps up from the horizon to join the show. The delicate crescent hovering just below Venus-Jupiter will have cameras clicking around the world.

I’m an avid skywatcher and I’ve been watching the narrowing gap between Venus and Jupiter for over a month now. I’ll definitely have my camera at the ready when the crescent Moon joins in!

It’s a little overcast here tonight. Just enough that the moon, Venus and Jupiter are all spooky and misty in the sky. Beautiful. Quite an amazing sight the three of them close to each other like that…

I was just outside watching the three of them “hanging out” in the Southern sky , and from here (Richmond , VA) , it is just STUNNING! 😯

If anyone got some pictures of this, please post them. It’s been overcast for several days here. It was clear this morning, until around 2pm, then it clouded up again. I didn’t get to see any of this yet. 🙄
