You can still choose whether you want to participate or not. You can be an active participant or you can just go along for the ride or you can opt out all together.
These were JUST the words I needed the other day. I was struggling with a moment of dissonance. I hit a “tired” patch and I just wanted to opt out and go home. Not REALLY but I sort of felt that way. And randomly I opened this, your thread. Those words leapt out at me. It was just what I needed to realise that I simply need to make a choice. Finally and completely. And so I have. I have decided to take up my role and be the active participant I intended to be. I shall carry my light and be wherever that light is needed. Thank you for bearing the right words at the right time to make a difference in my life.
My take on the darkness thing is this. Light comes from a “source”, right? Darkness is simply the absence of that light-source. It is shadow. There is no “source” of darkness. So we can come to realities like this where due to the Veil of Unknowing we can cast very long shadows indeed. We play with shadow which is us trying out being “Not-Self” for as long as there is something interesting to learn from it. Then, when we are ready to be done with the lessons of the games of our own shadows we turn around and look towards the light. Then, all the lessons we have in “shadow land” are available in service to the light. Practically what that means is that we play with transitory states of being like fear, pain, lies, manipulation and abuse so that we can discover more about ourselves. Then, when we are done with that we will have compassion and love to share with others. It offers the most amazing scope for interaction and growth and it is all always available in service of the ONE, despite what our myopic view of morals here on earth might say.
